On A Mission

To spread the gospel message of Jesus Christ through love and service

Mission Areas

“And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem (Home), in all Judea and Samaria (Domestic), and to the ends of the Earth (Foreign).”  Acts 1:8

Jerusalem (Home)

SBC Cooperative Program

TPAC annually donates $50-100k to the Southern Baptist Convention Cooperative Program. Through your tithes and giving, funds are utilized to send and support missionaries, train pastors, and other ministry leaders; provide relief for retired ministers and widows; and address social, moral, and ethical concerns relating to our faith and families.

Women’s Missionary Union (WMU)

TPAC’s Women’s Missionary Union meets the first Tuesday of every month and it is open to all ladies.  Our mission is to make disciples for Jesus and then spread God’s love through community mission projects and outreach. Monthly mission projects include the following: a card ministry where we send between 50-60 cards to encourage and comfort our church family shut-ins, sick and elderly; a prayer chain ministry in which we petition the Lord on behalf of those who are asking for special prayer needs; a ministry of preparing fruit baskets to deliver to select members of our church family; financially supporting the ministries of Alpha Omega, Women’s Refuge and Betty Griffin House.

Lottie Moon Offering

Since 1845, the IMB has partnered with churches to send missionaries to live and work among those around the world, specifically those with little to no access to the gospel. 100% of gifts are spread to the 3,714 missionaries worldwide to provide the services they need in order to live among the unreached people they serve. Our WMU prays for and sets the financial goals for these offerings each year as we strive to support the gospel by supporting international missionaries.

Annie Armstrong

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (AAEO) is a primary way to support mission efforts in North America through the North American Mission Board (NAMB). Your prayers and gifts provide support for thousands of missionaries who are planting new churches in unreached communities and meeting needs through compassion ministries.  Our WMU prays for and sets the financial goals for these offerings each year as we strive to support the gospel by supporting North American missionaries.

Food Basket Ministry

Each Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday, food baskets are prepared for those in our church family and local community who may be struggling to make ends meet. Led by our WMU group, this ministry thrives on support from our church family during our holiday food drives.  Baskets are comprised of non-perishable items that families can enjoy for weeks and typical holiday meal items.

Operation Christmas Child

Our partnership with Samaritan’s Purse is a core part of our holiday seasons each year.  Through the ministry of Operation Christmas Child, our church donates hundreds of shoe boxes filled with Christmas gifts and necessities for disadvantaged children around the world.

TPAC Food Bank

Turning Point’s own food bank that provides food and necessities to those in our community who are affected by poverty. It is a free service given out to selected families in our communities and made available through donations from both our church family and outside organizations.

Benevolence

TPAC’s benevolence program resources those within our church who are struggling with temporary financial crisis, often stressed by short-term disaster, job loss, family hardships, or homelessness.

Judea & Samaria (Domestic)

St. Francis Housing Crisis Center

St. Francis House exists to provide short-term assistance to the homeless community of St. Augustine through housing, meals, hygiene products, counseling, and job aide.  TPAC sends teams to St. Francis House weekly to assist in managing facility upkeep and cooking/serving meals to the families and individuals that are currently under the care of the St. Francis House staff. In addition, each Christmas, our WMU ladies prepare gift bags, which include essentials like underwear, socks, hygiene items and handmade crotcheted hats made from our WMU ladies, to give to residents of the shelter at their annual Christmas party for the homeless.

Florida Baptist Children’s Home

FBCH’s vision is to bring hope to hurting children, to show that the love of Jesus changes lives and to impact the life of one more child. Through donations and volunteer services, they are able to provide safe, stable, Christian homes and services to children and families in need across the state.  TPAC sends teams monthly to serve the Jacksonville, FL campus through various service opportunities. Also, at Christmas time, TPAC financially supports the FBCH’s diaper drive and other projects through the generous giving of our WMU.

Homeless Coalition

The Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County provides innovative programs to assist the most chronic homeless families with children to get off the street and on the road to self-sufficiency through services including food distribution, clothing drives, and transitional housing.  TPAC partners with homeless coalition through service projects and volunteer assistance.

St. Johns River State College Outreach

Our ALIVE college & young adults ministry ventures over to the SJRSC campus every week to engage students in conversations centered around the gospel, inviting them with love and encouragement to become a part of our local body of Christ.

Nursing Home Ministry

TPAC has a designated missions team equipped with hearts to minister to senior adults living in nursing homes in our surrounding community.  The goal of our Nursing Home Ministry is to provide senior adults with continual encouragement, reminding them of their continued purpose and continuing destiny found in our loving father.  Each Easter and Christmas, WMU sponsors a party for the residents of Ponce Nursing Home.  Light snacks, music, small gifts and a gospel message are presented to those able to attend and many residents continue to look forward to our visits.  The residents who are unable to attend the party are visited and given handmade blankets the ladies have worked on throughout the year.

Football Feedings

Our Calvary Crew youth ministry team provides meals for several of the local school football teams throughout the fall season.  Through our giving and serving, our youth pastor gains the opportunity to share the gospel through a message while athletes are enjoying the meal.

The Ends of the Earth (Foreign)

Kids on a Mission

Throughout the summer months, our TPAC Kids ministry focuses on teaching children the meaning of missions and our responsibility as the church to care for the least of these, part of which is supporting missionaries that God has placed around the world. Part of that program is a monetary collection each week to support several foreign missions located in different places around the world including: Ukraine, Haiti, Honduras, Peru, and Boston.

Atlanta

A focus within our student ministry. Every year, our student ministry goes on a week-long mission trip to reach communities in deprived areas of Atlanta, Ga.  Partnering with the NAMB, our students have the unique opportunity to gain understanding of various international cultures and religions that are represented in the urban areas of Atlanta. They learn how to defend their Christian faith and build communication bridges with those who are unreached.  They are discipled and equipped to share their faith in relatable ways and we have seen many kids give their life to Jesus through this outreach.

Boston

Of the approximately 5.85 million people in Boston, MA, demographers estimate 80,000 of them are Asian Indians. Many of these have come from India for professional opportunities or for universities in the city, seeking higher education. The vast majority are practicing Hindus.  North American Mission Board has placed several Christian Indians in this city to begin planting churches and reaching people for Christ.  Through our giving, we are able to support their efforts in supplying material, funding, and organization to better equip the missionaries doing the work of the gospel.

Honduras

A focus within our college & young adults.  Our missions work in Honduras began by providing financial sponsorships to orphans in La Paz, Honduras.  TPAC partners with a non-profit called Orphan Outreach who reach out to millions of at risk children around the world. We currently provide support by sending financially every month to sponsor children in orphan-prevention programs and by sending teams every year to go build relationships, teach education through Christ-centered curriculum, assist with construction projects, and evangelize in the community. More information on Orphan Outreach and their involvement in Honduras can be found at their website OrphanOutreach.co.

Dominican Republic

Through our partnership with Mission of Hope Haiti, TPAC is sending teams over to assist in the mission of bringing life transformation to every man, woman, and child in Haiti.  Mission of Hope is currently serving 91,000+ meals everyday, providing 129,000+ students with opportunities in education, and has built 1,087 homes since 2010.  Teams work together with MOH in Haiti to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the underserved communities, including youth programs, small construction projects, mobile medical clinics, and evangelism.
